Bistol City under 14s continued their winning ways with a well deserved 7-3 victory over Fry Club Colts, taking their winning run to 10 in all competitions. The morning didnt start great for Aaron Jones who tore a muscle in the warm-up and could be out for a while. Get well soon Aaron. So Harry Walker went to left back and Shane Rose went into the centre to cover Luke Reynolds who was still on holiday and Billy Stewart stayed at right back.

The ref (Legolas from Lord of the Rings) started the game and the first 5 minutes saw Frys put City under pressure from a bombardment of long throws and corners, which the City defence did well to defend, limiting Fry's to one half chance. As the game progressed City started to take control with their passing game creating 3 decent chances, before Fry's had a good chance of their own. The scoring was opened after a 30 yard scorcher from Sergio Smith flew over the top of the Fry's keeper, 1-0 City. From then on City kept a solid shape throughout the pitch and passed the ball intelligently, adding a great strike from Jamie Jonas after linking with Jack Carey for 2-0 and a well worked chance for the goal machine Ryan Radford to get his first, 3-0. Fry's got one back after George Dorrington misjudged an Anthony Smith backpass, 3-1 and then had a couple more chances which they failed to take before Ryan restored City's 3 goal lead prior to the break and City went in at half-time 4-1 up.

Fry's started well after the break and competed well in midfield for the first 10 minutes, closing City down with a greater urgency, limiting City's chances and compressing the play. A dangerous ball into City's box led to a chance for a Fry's striker who was rashly brought down by George for a penalty which he duly converted. The next period of play City started to dominate again and Jay Jay Woodman, Jack Carey and Segio Smith extended City's lead to 7-2. Sergio's was a really well worked goal involving several passes between players and a well placed finish. Fry's scored the last goal when a long ball saw a Fry's striker race through on goal, Anthony tackled him but the ball landed in a puddle of mud and stopped just as George came out and the striker tucked it away 7-3. Well done to Robbie Clarke who stood in for Billy Stewart at right back after he went off injured and did a sterling job playing out of position.

After a disappointing second-half last week the boys really got back on track with a more convincing display today. They looked solid throughout the pitch and exploited Fry's deep defensive line, keeping the ball and linking play from back to front and bringing support players into the game. Very different to last week where the boys didnt use the width of the pitch and played in a more direct fashion. Harry had his first full game at left back and formed a dynamic duo with Sergio down the flank, supporting the play ay all times. Overall a great peformance against a tough Fry's team who played their part in an entertaining game.
